The annual conference of the Family Links Network (FLN) in Eastern Eurasia was held on May 20-21, 2025 in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

The conference was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). It was attended by specialists and coordinators working in the field of restoring family links from the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

During the conference, participants learned about modern methods, developments and problems of restoring contact with family members of missing persons in emergency situations such as natural disasters, armed conflicts and forced displacement. The issues of exchanging experiences between countries, strengthening cooperation and using the potential of information technology were also widely discussed.

Also particularly impressive were the online presentations by international representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross during the conference. They provided information on the implementation of the Family Restoration System in different parts of the world, measures taken to address emerging issues, as well as innovative approaches in this system. These presentations allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of the issue and provided ample opportunities to learn from international experience.

Following the conference, a special two-day training seminar on "Restoring Family Links in Emergencies" was held for representatives of the Red Crescent Societies of Central Asian countries on 22–23 May 2025. The International Committee of the Red Cross also organized this training. During the training, participants discussed topics related to international standards of the family restoration system, working methods, communication tools, information security and rapid response to situations.

The training provided an excellent opportunity for the participants to share experiences, learn new methods and carry out this work more effectively in their countries. The interactive sessions and group exercises conducted by experienced specialists of the International Committee of the Red Cross proved to be very effective for the participants.
