Established in 1926, the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan has since carried out vital work for the public good in alignment with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Humanitarianism and neutrality serve as the fundamental principles guiding the National Society's operations. The seven core principles of the International Movement are deeply understood and strictly upheld. With its thousands of members and volunteers, the National Society actively participates in addressing urgent issues, acting as a key partner to the state.By regularly organizing practical training sessions and awareness-raising activities, the National Society makes a significant contribution to implementing the programs set forth by our esteemed President—specifically regarding the protection of public health, the provision of social support, the upbringing of youth in the spirit of national traditions, and the promotion of humanitarian values within the state of Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan.Based on its 2026 work plan, the Lebap Velayat Branch of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan recently organized a practical training event titled "Young Firefighters" for children vacationing at the "Bagtyýarlyk" Children's Health and Recreation Center in Turkmenabat. The event was held in collaboration with the Fire Safety Department of the Lebap Velayat Police Directorate, the Lebap Velayat Association of Trade Unions, the Lebap Velayat Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, and the Lebap Velayat mass media services.Participating in teams, the children competed by presenting performances they had prepared on the subject of fire safety and demonstrating their understanding of fire safety rules. The panel evaluated the skillful performance of these responsible tasks by the young firefighters—whose competition was highly spirited and impressive—and presented valuable prizes to the winners: Team 3 received their prize from the Lebap Velayat Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan; Team 2 from the Lebap Velayat Branch of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan; and Team 1 from the Lebap Velayat Association of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan. It was noted that their diligence, energy, and skills would make a significant contribution to the future prosperity of our Homeland. The Fire Safety Department of the Lebap Velayat Police Directorate awarded each team with certificates of honor, medals, and diplomas, while the team that distinguished itself by securing first place through active demonstrations of skill received a trophy. At the conclusion of the practical training session, officials from the Fire Safety Department reviewed key fire safety regulations, including the proper use and maintenance of electrical equipment and lighting systems, the mandatory fire safety equipment required in all institutions—such as the operational status and usage of fire extinguishers—and general fire safety protocols.
