On February  2025, specialists from the Dashoguz regional branch of the Turkmen Youth Society (TGÝMJ) conducted an educational lesson among students of the city's secondary schools on the topic "Use and Protection of the Symbols of the Red Crescent and the Red Cross."During the lesson, students learned in detail about the Swiss humanitarian and founder of the Red Cross, Henry Dunant. They were informed that he witnessed one of the most brutal and bloody battles of the 19th century—the Battle of Solferino—after which he wrote the book "A Memory of Solferino." This book contributed to the creation of the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent to ease the plight of the wounded. It was also noted that Henry Dunant went from wealth to poverty but became the first recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. The lesson also included an in-depth discussion about the significance and protection of the Red Crescent and Red Cross symbols.
