On March 19-20, during the business trip of the TB project coordinator and assistant visited two large cities in Balkan velayat: Turkmenbashi, Balkanabat and nearby located etraps. The purpose of the visit was to check the maintenance of documentation of tuberculosis (TB) patients and patient’s database. Within the framework of the project " Exit of National Tuberculosis Program of Turkmenistan from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria", special attention was paid to interaction with patients: meetings with TB patients at their home; were discussed their needs /problems, treatment conditions and possible ways to improve the provision of psychosocial care for them. In addition, were analyzed the methods of the existing documentation, updated TB patient’s registration forms, which will increase the efficiency of improvement and control of TB disease database.
