Carrying out actions and events aimed at maintaining and strengthening the environment is an integral part of the activities of volunteers from National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan. On February 11, 2025, volunteers from the "Jeyhun" volunteer center actively participated in an environmental action. Armed with rakes, they diligently began their work, first cleaning the area and only then starting to plant tree saplings. A total of 60 tree saplings (fruit and deciduous) were planted by the volunteers, which represents a significant contribution to the future ecology of our region and country. For some participants of the tree-planting action, this event was their first experience of planting trees, despite the cold air of a February day, their enthusiasm bloomed as brightly as the spring to come. Tired but satisfied that they had completed this mission.
There's a timeless wisdom, its author lost to the mists of history, that speaks of planting a tree, building a home, and raising a son. Many of the volunteers have already taken one of the three important steps in their lives by actively participating in this campaign. Each tree, carefully placed, becomes not only a testament to their efforts, but a vital contribution to the shared tapestry of our world. Trees play a key role in combating climate change, supporting biodiversity, and improving the quality of the air we all breathe.
Consequently, volunteers have not only learned a valuable skill (planting trees), but also took a step towards creating a cleaner and healthier future for themselves and the world around them. This experience is inspiring, and we hope that it will be the beginning of many other environmental initiatives!
