In December of this year, with the support of UNICEF the Lebap Regional Branch of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan organized practical sessions on "Emergency Preparedness and Risk Prevention" for students and staff of Secondary School No. 29 in Turkmenabat and Secondary School No. 58 in Charjew District. This initiative was part of the project plan "Emergency Preparedness in Central Asian Countries with High Risks of Earthquakes and Natural Disasters."
The event was conducted with the participation of staff from the Lebap Regional Branch of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, representatives from the Lebap Regional Department of Civil Defense, Emergency Situations, and Disaster Response, and the Lebap Regional Department of Education.
During the event, a UNICEF representative delivered a speech on "Strengthening Emergency Preparedness, Group Actions During Emergencies, and Reducing the Risk of Gender-Based Violence" to educators and society staff. The training included guidance on necessary actions during emergencies and steps to enhance preparedness, along with demonstrations of first aid skills.
As a result, the UNICEF representative and participants reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration and expressed satisfaction with the training conducted.
