From 5 to 9 October 2026, a staff member of the Healthcare and Social Support Department of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCST) participated in a study visit to Dushanbe, organized with the support of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat for representatives of Turkmenistan working in the fields of preventing and addressing gender inequality and domestic violence, and protecting survivors. During the visit, participants learned about national mechanisms for preventing violence, the experience of law enforcement agencies, and practices of interagency cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the provision of medical, psychological, social, and legal assistance to survivors, as well as the work of women’s resource centers and specialized services. The knowledge and experience gained will contribute to strengthening the NRCST’s professional capacity in psychosocial support, social protection, and the application of gender-sensitive approaches when working with different population groups.
