On October 17–18, 2025, a training course on restoring family links was held in Ashgabat by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission in Turkmenistan for staff of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCST). The course, led by Rano Kamolova, RFL Officer at the Tajik Crescent Society, and Anne Berhe-Vallet, ICRC Regional Delegate for Restoring Family Links, aimed to strengthen the NRCST's capacity to protect and restore family links.
During the course, participants deepened their knowledge of international standards and approaches to restoring family links, examined principles of confidentiality and personal data protection, and explored ICRC practical tools used in RFL work. Particular attention was paid to coordination between various NRCST units and interaction with government agencies during emergency response.
The training program included interactive sessions, group exercises, and case study discussions, allowing participants to practice interaction strategies in crisis situations.
The training helped strengthen professional skills and facilitate the exchange of experiences between staff involved in the implementation of humanitarian programs by the National Red Cross and the ICRC.
