Kate Forbes has been elected President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. 

Forbes is the second woman in the Movement's history to be elected to this position. She will lead the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for the next four years. Her term of office can only be renewed once by a vote of the National Societies.

"Now is the time to lean on our fundamental principles to fulfil our mission and make communities stronger," commented Kate Forbes on her election.

Kate Forbes has over 40 years of experience in the IFCC network. An auditor by training, Forbes has been a member of the IFRC Board for the past 17 years
