A "Young Rescuer" competition was held for cadets of the Soltan-Sanjar 3rd Specialized Military School of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan. The event was jointly organized by the Mary Province Civil Defense and Rescue Operations Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and the Soltan-Sanjar 3rd Specialized Military School, with the participation of specialists from the Mary Province Police Directorate and its Fire Safety Department (Ministry of Internal Affairs), the Mary City Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization, the Mary Province Health Directorate (Ministry of Health and Medical Industry), and the Mary Province Branch of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan. The aim of the competition—guided by the President of Turkmenistan’s paternal care for the rising generation to receive a modern education and upbringing, and to grow into patriotic, physically fit, and healthy young people prepared for independent life with well-developed life skills and broad horizons—was to cultivate in schoolchildren moral qualities characteristic of the Turkmen people, such as valor, courage, bravery, steadfastness, fearlessness, humanity, and integrity; to develop their skills and abilities regarding civil defense and preparedness for various types of emergency situations; to enhance their knowledge in these areas; and to inspire in them a desire to become rescuers. The competition set out to achieve the following objectives: ensuring the safety and well-being of schoolchildren; fostering patriotism among the younger generation; enhancing students' knowledge regarding traffic and fire safety regulations, civil defense, and conduct during emergencies; encouraging active student participation in emergency prevention measures; inspiring an interest in becoming rescuers; and preparing a reserve of volunteers capable of conducting search-and-rescue operations and administering pre-medical first aid in various emergency situations.
