The weather often presents unexpected surprises: strong winds, unbearable heat, or sudden rain. To prevent these changes from catching you off guard, volunteers from the National Red Crescent of Turkmenistan organized useful meetings for schoolchildren under the slogan "Be prepared for the elements!"
The uniqueness of our regular event with schoolchildren lies in the fact that, in addition to listening to the volunteers, the students also shared their thoughts and ideas, suggesting ways to help themselves and others in the event of natural disasters that may occur in real life.
Some important questions raised at the event included:
- What should you wear if the sun is shining in the morning and a storm is expected in the afternoon?
- Where can you hide if you are caught outside in a strong wind?
- How to respond to SMS messages from rescuers and what to do first?
Instead of long lectures, we offer live communication. Volunteers use visual examples to demonstrate how to act in difficult situations. Children learn to help themselves and each other, stay calm, and make good decisions.
At the end of the event, volunteers asked the students what key information they remembered during the discussion.
Nature can be diverse, but if you know what to do, any trip will be safe. Volunteers taught the children to pay attention to weather forecasts and always have a backup plan.
Volunteers from the National Red Crescent Society concluded this exciting event with the following words:
"Remember: your safety is in your own hands. Be prepared for any weather event with us!"
