This week, NRCST medical staff conducted a training session on the "Patient School" module for patients and their relatives. 8 people attended the group session, where medical staff talked about current updated recommendations to continue treatment for patients with multidrug-resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) tuberculosis; methods of psychosocial support aimed for improving adherence to treatment; ways to reduce stigma and discrimination associated with tuberculosis; recommendations for interaction with patients and their families, and stress management skills for patients. At the end of the session, all patients were given motivational food packages and sanitary-hygienic parcels.
