As part of a working visit to the Ahal region on January 15–16 of this year, a series of explanatory meetings was held with the participation of a delegation composed of representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, political parties, public organizations, newspapers, and magazines. These events were organized in accordance with the tasks set by the esteemed Arkadag at the meeting of the State Organizational Committee for the preparation and high-level conduct of events dedicated to the declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

Such meetings were organized with the participation of citizens working in various fields, deputies of the Mejlis, representatives of the older generation, employees of local administrations (hyakimliks), members of regional, district, and city public councils, as well as Gengesh members and youth. The events took place at the Tejen district administration building, in the Kaka district, at the textile complex in Babadaýhan district, and at Secondary School No. 27 in the village of Bereket, Sarahs district. In total, more than 2,020 people participated. In the participants' speeches, it was emphasized that holding events dedicated to the declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality at a high level would further enhance the significance of our country's neutral status in international relations. The Turkmenistan Red Crescent Society, as one of the oldest humanitarian public organizations in our country, actively works in areas such as ensuring the social protection of citizens, protecting public health, teaching rules of conduct in emergencies, and educating the younger generation in the spirit of the best traditions of the Turkmen people—compassion, empathy, and extending a helping hand to those in need. As a reliable assistant to the state, the organization makes a significant contribution to these areas. By fulfilling its noble humanitarian mission, the National Society proudly represents our country in the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

– Humanity

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, born of a desire to bring assistance
without discrimination to the wounded on the battlefield, endeavours, in its international and
national capacity, to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. Its purpose
is to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human being. It promotes mutual
understanding, friendship, cooperation and lasting peace amongst all peoples.

– Impartiality

It makes no discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. It
endeavors to relieve the suffering of individuals, being guided solely by their needs, and to give
priority to the most urgent cases of distress.

– Neutrality

In order to continue to enjoy the confidence of all, the Movement may not take sides in hostilities or
engage at any time in controversies of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature.

– Independence

The Movement is independent. The National Societies, while auxiliaries in the humanitarian services
of their governments and subject to the laws of their respective countries, must always maintain
their autonomy so that they may be able at all times to act in accordance with the principles of the
Movement.

– Voluntary service

It is a voluntary relief movement not prompted in any manner by desire for gain.

– Unity

There can be only one Red Cross or one Red Crescent Society in any one country. It must be open
to all. It must carry on its humanitarian work throughout its territory.

– Universality

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, in which all Societies have equal status
and share equal responsibilities and duties in helping each other, is worldwide.
