On March 21, at the 61st plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the resolution "Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan" was unanimously adopted. On the meeting was emphasized that the status of permanent neutrality is the foundation of the country's foreign policy and the base of the peacekeeping doctrine in the international arena. Also, noted that neutrality is enshrined in the Constitutional Law of Turkmenistan and is based on the historical traditions of the Turkmen people, which put peace, dialogue and mutual respect at the forefront. The consolidation of the status of permanent neutrality at the international level emphasizes the desire of Turkmenistan for peaceful existence, the development of good-neighborly relations and active participation in solving global issues through dialogue and cooperation.
