The main asset of our society is the health of its citizens, and concern for human rights. In this regard, large projects are implemented in Turkmenistan. According to its seven guiding principles, NRCST strives to alleviate the suffering of people, primarily by teaching them how to provide unbiased help. Based on seven principles, the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan strives to alleviate the suffering of people: to provide assistance to vulnerable categories of citizens, to help elderly single people, people with disabilities and serious illnesses, people in crisis and emergency situations, and large families. The National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan actively continues to work in this direction and regularly conducts training events on providing psychological assistance and training the population in first aid.

Working tirelessly for the development of the country: Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, Specialists of the General Archives Department under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan participated in the educational event with great interest. To consolidate the acquired material, the training participants completed special simulation exercises to practice first aid skills. As a result of the training events, participants acquired skills in assessing non-standard situations, skills in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, skills in stopping bleeding and applying bandages to wounds.

Also, much attention is paid to children, creating a trend among them to learn first aid skills throughout their lives. Practical courses are being conducted to increase the number of people able to provide first aid correctly in emergency situations by teaching first aid skills. These courses comply with modern and international standards. We encourage everyone to take a basic first aid course

THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

– Humanity

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, born of a desire to bring assistance
without discrimination to the wounded on the battlefield, endeavours, in its international and
national capacity, to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. Its purpose
is to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human being. It promotes mutual
understanding, friendship, cooperation and lasting peace amongst all peoples.

– Impartiality

It makes no discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. It
endeavors to relieve the suffering of individuals, being guided solely by their needs, and to give
priority to the most urgent cases of distress.

– Neutrality

In order to continue to enjoy the confidence of all, the Movement may not take sides in hostilities or
engage at any time in controversies of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature.

– Independence

The Movement is independent. The National Societies, while auxiliaries in the humanitarian services
of their governments and subject to the laws of their respective countries, must always maintain
their autonomy so that they may be able at all times to act in accordance with the principles of the
Movement.

– Voluntary service

It is a voluntary relief movement not prompted in any manner by desire for gain.

– Unity

There can be only one Red Cross or one Red Crescent Society in any one country. It must be open
to all. It must carry on its humanitarian work throughout its territory.

– Universality

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, in which all Societies have equal status
and share equal responsibilities and duties in helping each other, is worldwide.
