Event name: (May 19-23, 2026): Self-Assessment -Preparedness for Effective Response

Workshop overview

Purpose. This five-day agenda is designed to guide the PER self-assessment process in a structured, participatory and evidence-based way. It helps facilitators move the group from a shared understanding of the mechanism, through review of the 37 components, to prioritisation, root-cause analysis and agreement on a practical work plan.

Summary. The agenda combines plenary discussion, group work, validation and light energizers to maintain pace and participation. The sequence follows the logic of the PER process: review of systems and evidence, consolidation of findings, prioritisation of key gaps, action planning, leadership validation and agreement on follow-up.

Expected outcomes. By the end of the workshop, participants should have a validated overview of preparedness strengths and gaps across PER areas, a shortlist of priority components for improvement, analysis of the main root causes, a draft work plan with suggested actions, responsibilities and timelines, and agreement on implementation and follow-up arrangements.
